AOM RMS - another successful remote commissioning for Pacific Radiance

Aquametro Oil & Marine has again successfully remotely commissioned RMS for our long-term customer Pacific Radiance. This is the 5th Remote Monitoring System (RMS) shipsets that are installed in their fleet of Offshore Supply Vessels for fulfilling their chartering contract requirements.

Since 2016, we have been in contact with Pacific Radiance and assisting them on fulfill their requirement on fuel oil consumption and efficiency monitoring for their vessels. The latest addition is Crest Argus 3 which is an Offshore Supply Vessel deployed in Thailand. For this vessel, the RMS is monitoring the two Main Engines and the three Aux Engines onboard.

Apart from individual engine fuel consumption, the system is monitoring individual main engines’ rpm and load. For generators, power output kW loads are tapped and monitored in order to capture the high fuel usage period. All monitored readings and events are transferred back to shore. By this, charterers and ship owners can perform data analysis and deeply control on the engine performance through our web portal and mobile app FMCC (Fuel Monitoring Control Center).

The whole RMS commissioning was performed and supported remotely by an AOM engineer together with the assistance from the well performing C/E & ETO onboard. There was no need to fly an AOM engineer over onsite. Therefore, travel restrictions due to the pandemic situation could be avoided and the client saved travel costs.
